DYT Yacht Transport carries superyachts around the world with two ships built specially for the job: the Yacht Express and the Yacht Servant. No crane is involved: the ship lowers itself until the deck is under water, the yachts float on under their own power, and then the ship comes back up. DYT has been doing that since 1987 and sails under the flag of the Spliethoff group.
Different people come to the site. An owner or broker planning a transport who wants to know which routes are sailing. A captain or rider preparing for loading and unloading who wants to know exactly what that involves. And visitors who are simply curious about how float-on/float-off works. All three had to be able to find their answer, without the site turning into a manual.
We built the website in 2023 and 2024, and have maintained and developed it ever since.
The challenge
DYT wanted a site that looks like DYT again: its own, refreshed look & feel, with the ships in the picture.
Just as important was what was not allowed to change. The team works in WordPress and wanted to keep working there - new design, familiar day-to-day management.
A new look, without a new system

A new design, with WordPress as the basis that the team keeps managing itself.
- A new design in the DYT house style
- Routes & Schedules: for every route the ports of departure and arrival and the months it sails, with a button on every sailing Get a quote
- An explanation of the float-on/float-off process, and practical information for captains and riders about loading and unloading
- Five destination areas, each with its season, its weather and its ports
- A quote request in four steps, voyage, yacht, contact, other, that lands straight in DYT’s own system through an API instead of in a mailbox
- Emissions reduction given its own place in the main menu, with the CO² seal on every page
The result
The site went live in mid-2024: a new appearance, the same way of working behind it. Whoever arrives sees the ship, and after that finds the schedule, the destinations and the explanation of the transport process.
Development has carried on since: a dedicated content type for events, the API integration in the form, a site-wide announcement bar. The schedule is meanwhile filling up with sailings into 2027.
